Since becoming pregnant I am constantly asked about what I eat. While it completely varies from day to day, I thought I would write a short post on what a typical day on my plate… More
For my 20 week ultrasound appointment I decided to bring Lily along. She was so excited to see the baby. She loved seeing it move and what position it was. When We first went in she was a little bit scared but once she relaxed she placed her hand on my bump for the scan so she could feel the baby. So cute. The baby looks to be really strong and healthy and everything is growing as it should be.This was brilliant to hear as you always panic there may be bad news. We have decided not to find out the sex of the baby as we think it will be a really nice surprise for us.
I feel like my bump has popped out and doubled in size over the last few weeks. I had such a small bump along and it’s still quite small compared to other women I know but I love it. To be honest I love being pregnant. I find my body deals with it so well. I have never experienced any morning sickness. My blood pressure has been quite low so I have been experiencing some headaches and dizziness but its not too bad. I find it hard to walk up hills or stairs as they give me a pain in my head sometimes. But I’m managing and sticking to go for walks where the road is flat.
Has far as cravings go I have not really had any lately. I’m still drinking my orange juice but I think this is more of a habit. I’m loving having a bowl of cereal at nighttime and nearly panic if it get too late before I have had it but it’s not a particular cereal. As long as it’s vegan, I don’t mind.
We are so close to meeting our new baby and I cannot wait!
I absolutely adore Autumn. It’s just such a pretty season. I thought I would give the Autumn tag ago as I relax with a gingerbread soy latte in my hand.

I love to put on either warm cosy clothes or pyjamas, light the fire, make popcorn and watch a movie with Lily and Paul.

I love horror/thriller movies and always try to watch really good ones around the Autumn months but as soon as Autumn comes I get really excited to watch Hocus Pocus. It’s definitely one of the best.

I won’t be dressing up but I will be taking my daughter trick or treating and I usually do some sort of Halloween style make up.
I’m currently just gone 18 weeks pregnant but haven’t written a post since my 1st Trimester post (link here) so I thought it was time for a little update.
I currently spend most of my days scrolling through online shops such as Mothercare, H&M or Etsy looking at all the cute baby clothes. I have bought a few little baby grows, vest, hats & other tiny little bits but we’re holding off on buying most items for another few weeks.
How cute are baby clothes though? 🙂
Since starting my 2nd trimester I haven’t been experiencing any nausea like I was for the first few weeks.
My tiredness has calmed down and I do have a lift of energy. However I’m still finding myself getting exhausted quicker than usual but I can manage.
My daughter started primary school 2 weeks ago so we have been pretty busy over the last few weeks. She is so excited to become a big sister and is constantly asking how the baby is and thinking of names. She is going to make the best big sister.
While my bump is getting a little bigger, I’m still quite small. I don’t have another antenatal check up until week 20 so I’m feeling like nothing is happening in my pregnancy at the minute. Although I did feel the baby kick last week so that was a really special feeling 🙂
I’m still craving orange juice or else its just become a habit at this stage. I was also craving curry sauce and chocolate for awhile (Obviously not together) ew.
All is going really good and I can’t wait to see how my baby is progressing in 2 weeks 🙂
I am obsessed with baby apps! I love waking up in the morning and reading a new update or baby article. They give lots of advise and insights into what’s happening with both the Mother and baby.
Ovia I think is my favourite app. It sends you and update on the baby’s growth every morning and also posts article for you to read. Some of the facts I find are written quite humerously and provide a little laugh in the mornings. At the start of each week it lets you know what the size the baby is in comparison to fruit. This week my baby is the size of a pomegranate. How cute!
This is another app I love. Each day it gives you quite a lengthy tip on a different pregnancy topic. Each week it also has a different photo of what the baby might look like in the womb. Although I am aware this is not my baby it is cool to see!
The Baby Centre app is also brilliant. It’s an app for the popular pregnancy and parenting website. Each day it send you 3 different article for Mommy to read. There is also a birth club section for Moms to chat to other women about any topic really.
What To Expect
What To Expect is another great app under the same name as the popular book and website. It is full of lots of information and in each update it also links to more detailed info on the website. This app also has chat room but Moms to share tips and get advice. It also has a weekly section that tells you about the baby’s development for that coming week and also about the Mothers body too.
Lastly, this gives you a weekly update on both the baby’s development and also what the Mother is expected to go through that coming week. It also gives you a daily tip and a section for healthy meals to eat while pregnant.
All these I feel provide me with a bit of a different insight and I love to check them when morning.
If love to know what your favourite apps are and if you have any that I’m not using please let me know ☺
I am currently pregnant with my second baby! I could not be happier to be expecting again. I cannot wait to meet my tiny little baby!
As I have always loved ready other women’s pregnancy diaries and blogs, I thought it would be nice to keep track of my own. I am currently in my second trimester but thought it would be nice to post about what my first trimester was like. As every woman and pregnancy is so different, I love hearing other stories.
Just like my first pregnancy I was lucky to experience no morning sickness. I did however feel quite nauseous between weeks 4-11. I actually felt my best early on in the morning. Up until around 2 o’clock and I used to suffer from nausea till about 6 or 7pm. This also meant that I was struggling eat. During the day. However once I noticed it was a regular thing I started to get up early and make a giant smoothie. This not only gave me so many nutrients and vitamins that myself and the baby needed but also helped me last those few hours where I was not able to eat. By week 10/11 the nausea stopped and I am currently feeling pretty good.
Another symptom I had during the 1st trimester was fatigue. I was tired ALL THE TIME. I suffer quite a bit from insomnia and usually get around 5 hours sleep. I like to think I eat fairly healthy and I would never struggle with fatigue. Unless I had a busy day at work or motherhood struggles. But on a average day I can usually manage going from one day to the next ever needing a nap. I could barely keep me eyes open. I was tired all day despite going to bed early and sleeping in longer than I usually would.
At the start I was craving oranges, Or just any citrus type fruits. And mixed berries! I was buying a packet of oranges everyday. This stopped around week 9 but returned during week 12 except now I am craving orange juice not so much oranges themselves.
I have not actually put on any weighlt yet maybe just a few extra pounds and I did initially lose a bit of weight at the start from nausea (which is very common). I have the tiniest bump just starting to develop and I did but a few clothes in an extra size such as; leggings and bras were just getting a little bit tight.
So far I am really enjoying my pregnancy. That is all the updates I have so far. I have so many more pregnancy related posts scheduled and cannot wait to get back into blogging!
If any of you know other pregnancy or parenting blogs please let me know as I’d love to find some more now that I have some extra free time 🙂
Having just finished my last college exam and as usual going in to town to pick up some last minute items to bring on our travels, we picked Lily up from school and drove straight to the airport. I personally love airports. People flying to different countries for different reasons. I love that feeling before flying to your destination, wondering about all the new things you are going to see, the unexpected adventures. The excitement of not knowing how the adventure is going to turn out.
We randomly decided to take a trip to Milan. I had never even thought about going to Milan as I had associated it with fashion. Something I know nothing about. While also being against things such as fast fashion, leather, fur etc.. To my surprise Milan turned out to be one of my favourite places.
We climbed to the top of the Duomo, with a 4 year old and me with a injured foot. We wandered around the city with no plan and not knowing what would be around the next corner. We explored the Leonardo Da Vinci Science Museum. Had a picnic in Sempione Park and took in the views of Sforzesco Castle. Trying to hide our food from too many pigeons. Ate delicious vegan ice cream and Italian food. And made so many memories.
I felt my lungs inflate with the onrush of scenery—air, mountains, trees, people. I thought, this is what it is to be happy.
I have been so busy lately with college, work, being a parent and just life in general. I struggle to relax. My mind is always racing.
However, when I am in nature, I am calm. Being in the outdoors has such a calming affect on me. My favourite place to be is by trees and water. After a stressful I went for a walk to Lough Derg in Killaloe, County Clare. Growing up this was my favourite place. I would love to have a little house by lake and listen to the sound of nature.
After just getting out of the car I instantly felt better. It helped that it was funny and I had my favourite person by my side.
Being in nature dramatically improves our mental health. We are naturally meant to live, breath and walk in nature. Sadly, we are losing our connection with this Earth. I try and spend as much time as I can outside. Now that the weather is improving I hope to go on more walks and adventures. It is a goal of mine to discover my own country more. I spend so much time planning trips to other countries. I sit down and I research everything there is to know about a country/culture but I often forget how beautiful my own is.
Being by the lake and listening to the water made me feel so much better. I went to bed calmer and definitely felt more positive because of it.
Don’t waste your life indoors/on your phone. Reconnect with nature.
